From the inventors
of the Subwoofer

Throughout four decades, the words “world’s first” have been closely associated with MK Professional subwoofer design and development. We introduced the world’s first integrated satellite/subwoofer system, David & Goliath, in 1975, the world’s first self-powered subwoofer, the Volkswoofer, in 1977 and the world’s first Home THX loudspeaker system, featuring the world’s first powered THX subwoofer in 1992. The list of MK innovations goes on and on.
Befitting the world leader in high-performance studio monitor design, MK Professional powered subwoofers are true thoroughbreds, delivering the audible superiority that audio professionals have come to expect from the MK brand.
When speakers are set up in a space, they are usually located to produce the best imaging at the main listening position. In virtually all rooms, though, that location does not give the deepest and smoothest bass response. It usually means that bass response will be disappointing, because the speaker will not meet its bass specs in that room! This compromise is inherent for all speakers without a separate subwoofer.
With an MK system, you simply locate the Satellites for optimal imaging and the Subwoofer for the best bass.
Every element of an MK Professional subwoofer, from driver to amplifier to enclosure, is very tightly damped (low Q), so the combination achieves extremely tight and articulate musical bass.
MK Professional subwoofer cabinets are heavily braced to provide the most stable platform for the drivers and to avoid the resonances, buzzes and rattles that are surprisingly common in competitive subwoofers.
All MK Subwoofers are sealed-box designs in order to deliver the best transient response with true Deep Bass.
